Dyslipidemia is a chronic medical condition, characterized by an increase in cholesterol and/or triglycerides (lipids) in the blood.

It is considered to be one of the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). This condition is extremely common, almost everyone who is overweight or obese will have increased lipids. In India, increased triglyceride levels is a more common finding vs the West where increased cholesterol is more common.

The beauty of Lifestyle medicine lies in addressing the cause, the metabolic disruption, which affects not only lipids but weight and even insulin resistance, in a multi-pronged attack on dyslipidemia.
